A Possum Entering the Argument

I intended to take some pictures of Mark's and Tom Healy's reading at KGB Monday, but the camera had a thing against the low light. Instead, we have this video of Tom reading his excellent poem, "A Possum Entering the Argument," which just went up on YouTube today.

Thanks for this...a really powerful poem...Tom Healy's partner Fred owned the house on the beach just down from us, you probably remember it as the house at the top of the hill on Ocean Walk with the big parrot that screeched very loudly when you walked by. We knew Fred pre-Tom. I think it got sold to Mr Parrot about 10 years ago. "Its a small world after all" (repeat ad nauseum)

You're welcome. It is a powerful poem, beautifully controlled and haunting--unforgettable, really. I've listened to it over and over.

I'm trying to envision the hill you're talking about. It must be toward the west. Do you remember the crosswalk?

I don't know this parrot!
