I love the photos- particularly the geese- you've captured their essential... geeseness.

From all that you and Mark have written, you've had an interesting and memorable West Coast experience. And as one who has never visited it, I've been grateful for your accounts, but more particularly for the pictures.

Bon retour Paul

Thank you, David. Those geese and I immediately gravitated toward one another. Of course they were probably thinking I'd feed them, but I'd like to think it was something else.

Anyway, photos seem to be the best way to represent that landscape and culture; it almost seems uncapturable in words, at least to this East Coast person. So much sublimity, especially along the coast. That sublimity used to make me queasy, but I learned to relax into it this time around. I suppose I'm used to seeing a flat, mountainless shoreline, with either high rises or a boardwalk or a seafood restaurant nearby. A little beach grass for effect.

I go on. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
