I just saw that I'd used this title for another post back in December: oh, well. These shots come from Abbot Kinney Boulevard, which Mark had wanted to take me to. Afterward, we went for a walk out on the pier, then up along the ocean to Small World Books.
In a few minutes, I'm off to my reading in Los Feliz.

LA and its surrounds are full of crazy juxtapositions. Everything hinges on your station in life. If you have money it’s exciting and beautiful if not it’s dirty and plastic.
that dog is giving you quite the skeptical look. this must've been before you charmed him.

It was great to meet both you and Mark last night. I really enjoyed the reading and some of the images from the "Unbuilt Projects" have really stuck with me today. (Especially from the "Stuck in the Mud" piece.) And the bit from the new novel was tantalizing...
What a funny/fabulous venue! The truth is, any place with red flocked wallpaper is just fine in my book.
Thanks, Nancy and Lu, for the comments.
Actually, Jayme, the pit bull was a store dog and he was trying hard to behave and look dignified. I actually think he looks coquettish in that shot.
Christopher, it was great to talk to you after the reading. Thanks so much for your words about the work. I know exactly what you mean about that space: I loved it the second I walked in the door. (Actually, the sign outside did it for me first.) I hope we get to see you another time soon.
